Mission
The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (NCADA) - St. Louis Area provides the highest quality resources and services that promote a safe and healthy community free of problems associated with alcohol and other drugs.
In pursuit of this Mission, NCADA strives to be the place to turn:
- To serve as the central resource for information on alcohol, tobacco, other drugs and associated problems and issues.
- To raise public awareness about the nature and extent of alcohol and other drug abuse and addiction, its impact on society, and NCADA’s role in reducing this impact.
- To develop, promote and implement strategies that prevent or reduce alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse and related problems.
- To promote understanding of addiction disease and its impact on individuals and families; to reduce the stigma of addiction disease; and, to serve as an objective source for assessment, counseling and treatment referral.
- To organize advocacy efforts for responsible and effective policies, laws and resources that support the NCADA mission.
