Mission

The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (NCADA) - St. Louis Area provides the highest quality resources and services that promote a safe and healthy community free of problems associated with alcohol and other drugs.

In pursuit of this Mission, NCADA strives to be the place to turn:

  1. To serve as the central resource for information on alcohol, tobacco, other drugs and associated problems and issues.

  2. To raise public awareness about the nature and extent of alcohol and other drug abuse and addiction, its impact on society, and NCADA’s role in reducing this impact.

  3. To develop, promote and implement strategies that prevent or reduce alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse and related problems.

  4. To promote understanding of addiction disease and its impact on individuals and families; to reduce the stigma of addiction disease; and, to serve as an objective source for assessment, counseling and treatment referral.

  5. To organize advocacy efforts for responsible and effective policies, laws and resources that support the NCADA mission.
