MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD! Yes, you can make a difference! Legislators and policy makers look to you for input on important issues. Just a few phone calls or letters from constituents can influence legislators' votes. Please take the time to call or write your representatives and senators. If you don't know who your legislators are, you can find out here. Coalition on Addictions - The Coalition meets the second Wednesday of each month at the NCADA office, 8790 Manchester Rd. (southeast corner of Brentwood Blvd./Manchester Rd. intersection). Meetings start at 11:45 and end by 1:00. Lunch is provided, with a different speaker each month. One CEU is available. Cost is $3.00 per person. All are welcome. Call (314) 962-3456 for details. Missouri Recovery Network - a statewide effort that invites people who are recovering from substance addiction, family members who are in recovery and other allies of those in recovery to tell the story of recovery in order to help others. Breathe Easy Missouri - promotes the right of all citizens to breathe clean, smoke-free air and live free from addiction to tobacco products. They educate about the dangers of exposure to secondhand tobacco smoke and addiction to tobacco products; encourage citizens to insist on smoke-free when choosing a business to patronize and refrain from tobacco use in public places; advocate for the elimination of smoking in all public areas; and support the development and enforcement of smoke-free policies and policies that deter youth from using tobacco products. In St. Louis, the Tobacco Free Missouri, St. Louis Coalition is working to promote the goals of Breathe Easy Missouri. Act Missouri - This is a one stop shop for those who want to learn how to be an effective policy shaper.
