TREND

TREND (Turning Resources and Energy in New Directions) is a student led organization which promotes a non-violent, alcohol and other drug free lifestyle through educational programs and positive alternatives to the typical party scene which encourages drinking and other drug use. Groups of students in middle school, high school, and college, who choose to celebrate sober, form local prevention groups called TREND chapters. Working with their schools and communities, TREND Chapters organize drug free alternatives including social/recreational activities and community service projects. Through education and motivation, TREND seeks to create a new social norm which equates fun with partying sober and helping other less fortunate than themselves.

Begun in 1987 under the leadership NCADA, TREND has evolved to a national grassroots movement with Chapters across the country. For more information, contact Ginny Shaller at (314) 962-3456.
